comment from Judy Benson:There haven't been any Tudor Williams' at our shop to the best of our knowledge - there was a vicar called Tudor Evans at the back of the property at the vicarage ? The shop ownership runs something like this ; 1841 -Thomas Shaw - not related - a tenant of William Podmore who also owned 16 The Square next door. Possible glazier. 18?? - Kirkhams - drapers Family epidemic ( see Baptist church plaque) may have affected business. 1862 - Eli Williams (from Tarpoley - possible connections to Aberystwth ?) 1880s - George Williams (son) & Hannah (nee Brassington -farmers from Betley) 1920s - - Hilda Dutton (daughter) & Joe Dutton (officially F.J Dutton -from Stafford St Audlem). 1964 - Megan McKelvey (daughter) & Derek McKelvey (from Salford Lancashire) 2013 - Judy Benson-Evans (daughter) & Brian Evans from Llan, near Llanbrymair, in Powys. In Cheshire St in the 1960s there was also a ladies hairdressers shop on the right just after the Lamb carpark run by Helen Hill (nee Jones). There was also a Unisex hairdressers, also on the right at 17 Cheshire St., run by Bill & Mary Pollard.
